As the English class representative, I recently had the opportunity to teach a class for one period. This experience was both nerve-wracking and exciting for me, as I had never been in a teaching role before.
I started the class by introducing myself and explaining that I would be leading the lesson for the day. I could sense some hesitation from my classmates, as they were used to our regular teacher, but I tried to reassure them that we would have a productive and engaging class.
I had prepared a lesson on grammar, specifically focusing on verb tenses. I started by reviewing the different verb tenses with the class, providing examples and explanations along the way. I then gave them a series of exercises to practice using the correct verb tense in different contexts.
I was impressed by how engaged and responsive my classmates were during the lesson. They asked questions when they were unsure, and participated actively in the exercises. It was rewarding to see them improve their understanding of the material as the lesson progressed.
At the end of the class, I gave them a short quiz to test their knowledge of verb tenses. I was pleased to see that they had retained the information from the lesson and were able to apply it successfully.
Overall, the experience of teaching my classmates for a period was a valuable one for me. It helped me gain confidence in my own abilities and gave me a greater appreciation for the hard work that our teachers put in every day. I look forward to future opportunities to take on a teaching role and continue to help my classmates succeed in their English studies.
